The Lyon County Sheriff’s office is seeking additional information about a Las Vegas man held in custody for the suspected shooting of his estranged wife in Fernley on Saturday. Lt. Rob Hall with the Sheriff’s Office said that Michael Fixer Newcastle would be transferred from Nye County where he is being held once an attempted-murder warrant has been issued. Separated from Newcastle, his estranged wife was residing in Fernley with her parents. She was last reported in critical condition after receiving two gunshots to her head.
Local law enforcement officials would like information from anyone, particularly business owners in local or surrounding towns, who may have seen, or captured on surveillance tape, Newcastle and his silver 2006 Chrysler 4-door sedan on or around the time of the shooting.
Individuals with such information are encouraged to contact Lyon County nonemergency dispatch at (775) 463-6620 or the Silver Springs detective division of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department at (775) 577-5096 or (775) 577-5023. [NV Appeal]
